During his competitive career, Raymond
Floyd built an impressive portfolio of titles, including every
major championship on American soil for both the PGA Tour and the
Champions Tour.
4 Major titles, including the 1976 Masters, the 1965 and
1982 PGA Championship, and the 1986 United States Open.
22 PGA Tour victories including 3 Doral Opens and the Tournament
Players Championship, the Memorial and the World Open
14 Champions Tour wins including the Senior PGA Championship,
the Tradition, two Senior PGA Tour Championships, and two Senior
Players Championships.
Member of the Ryder Cup team
in 1969, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1983,
1985, 1991, and 1993,
The United States Ryder Cup team only suffered
one defeat in the eight years that Raymond Floyd served as a
member of the American squad, and he served as captain of the
team in 1989. Even today, Raymond Floyd remains one of the top
point earners in U.S. Ryder Cup history.
The Floyds dominated
the first years of the Father Son Challenge hosted by Office
Depot. In the first three years of the event, from 1995 through
1997, Raymond teamed up with oldest son Raymond, Jr., to win
the event. Two years later, son Robert did the honors, teaming
up with Dad to win the Father Son in 2000 and 2001.
